Castles and Battles
This one was certainly a historically inaccurate collage.
_______
Dream 1:
I was touring Ireland in a big group and it seemed like we were driving in circles. We drove around one enormous ruin of a castle and went down a road through the woods. We arrived at a much smaller castle which had been converted into a modern residence for a sheep farmer.
We were invited inside for tea or something like that and we were getting to know the farmer and his family for a while. When it was about time to go, suddenly two volcanoes erupted [to my knowledge Ireland doesn't have any volcanoes], one to the south and the other to the west. We all decided it would be a good idea to get out of the country.
Luckily the airport was a very short drive away and we quickly boarded a plane. It was a smaller twin-prop plane from Northwest Airlines. We were taxiing out to the runway, bumping into terminals and parked planes, and took off. I noticed that the pilot was not in a separate cockpit but in the front of the main cabin, and his forward window was smaller than the passenger windows!
I stood up and closed a few of the overhead compartments because the flight attendants weren't doing their job (they work for Northwest, go figure). By now we were in the air, but as I returned to my seat, I noticed that we were flying only a few feet above the ground. I asked the pilot if we should be flying higher, but I don't recall getting a response from him (go figure, he works for Northwest).
A forest was up ahead. I was certain we were going to crash if he didn't pull up and fly over the trees but when we got to them we flew between the trees as if there were no wings [dream logic at its finest] but we weren't flying very fast. A few minutes later we landed the plane... in a field. By then nothing was wrong and I suppose the volcanoes had cured themselves or we were far enough away from them. [This fades into the next dream.]

_______
Dream 2:
We are in a group walking from castle to castle, and we go into one which has a lot of ramps spiraling up along the ramparts that meander and tangle around. I take a few minutes to try to find the right way to the top of the tower, but end up going farther down.
Then we have a mystery on our hands and we catch a shifty looking fellow pulling a wooden cart. We assume that he is wanted for murder or something so we beat him up and turn him in. We start looking through his cart and find that some boards are loose, hiding a secret compartment full of neat things.
"This isn't right, these are modern things," says someone [maybe me], "it's not historically accurate," [this dream takes place almost a thousand years ago]. So we take the objects anyway, because most of them are food products in their modern plastic containers. A short while later, everyone starts running away. I look to see why and there is a band of warriors prepared for combat closing in.
I am not entirely alone, but we are very outnumbered. Fortunately one of them declares the right of single combat against me, and I accept in return, knowing that according to this type of Chivalry (even amongst bad guys) I will not get attacked by more than one person at once.
He draws his sword, and [by means of dream logic] I pull my 5 foot long halberd out of nowhere and block his first blow. We trade blows for a while, parrying each time, and he almost gets me, but since I have a farther reach I lunge at him, stabbing him in the chest. He falls to one side but does not die. Then I quickly declared my combat against the next enemy and defeat him almost instantly.
The next guys is tougher, and fights harder. He had only a heavy steel shield, oval in shape, with one edge sharpened into a blade. I think it might have used some sort of magic because I felt weak when it was close. He was blocking my blows and swinging the edge towards me. I fell on the ground and he was about to bring it down upon my neck, when I managed to roll and stand up, but he hit me with the flat surface and I fell again.
He pushed the surface of the shield down onto my face and chest. I could not lift my halberd because it seemed like it weighed 100 lbs. He was preparing to finish me off as I reached for my dagger. I pulled it out with both hands and thrust it into his guts. It did not go in far, so I pushed harder and twisted and he fell back against the wooden cart, and the visceral carnage spewed forth from his fatal wound and onto my hands. [Then I woke up]
