Bears on the Homefront
Feel free to let me know what this dream means. It was a rather short one, but probably meaningful none the less.
______
Dream:
I was at my old house, walking to the end of our driveway. Most of the leaves on the trees are golden, and many are on the ground already [It is autumn in the waking world right now too], but something is wrong. I look up and see a full grown black bear lumbering diagonally across the street from the intersection [this dream took place at the house I grew up in, near the street corner. This home is the only place that is ever my home in my dreams, it's never the house I live in now].
The bear is sauntering directly towards me. I remember that bears don't like loud noises so I yell at him to go away. He keeps coming closer, lunging a little bit to try and make me run away so he can chase. This makes me jump back a little and he comes closer at a faster pace.
I yell at him as if he were a dog, "No... NO! Go away!" and try to make myself look bigger and taller than I really am. At this point he is breathing on my face, smelling my breath. I remember that [in my dream] I had bear meat for dinner that evening and get a little more worried. I punch the bear in the nose several times as I am backing away from him slowly. This only deters him a little. [I don't remember much after this, but I was okay.]
_________
The last couple of weeks were full of nights where I woke up and was unable to remember any good length of dream, or the ones I did have were too bizzare and random to make any sense out of other than what type of imagery was present.
